Mass Production Update

We’ve been able to validate the Wimoto Grow, Thermo, Climate and Water for mass production and the contract manufacturer will now start mass production of those units.

The Sentry has been causing some strange accelerometer problems. We’ve found and corrected an issue where the main system-on-a-chip wasn’t leaving debug mode properly (there’s an on-chip debugger), which was in turn caused by a corrupt Keil project file which we had to rebuild. We’re still seeing some erratic behaviour during release candidate testing, but I’m hopeful that we get resolved in the next couple of days.

We’re also getting the accelerometer manufacture, Freescale Semi, involved in the accelerometer issue in case it’s an improperly configured control register, or something equally subtle. We do not believe it’s hardware related — neither the silicon itself (it’s reproducible across units), or an issue with our design.

We should be able to get a timeline from the contract manufacturer in the next couple of days.

  2. This is great news. After this shipment, what would be the delivery time of the sensors? I have ordered a few in the first Indiegogo campaign but I would like to know what would happen if I order some 100 sensors in a month or so.

    Sorry if you’re feeling in the dark. For those of you who have expressed concern, yes we absolutely will be shipping your orders and we’re working on making it happen as soon as possible. I know that may sound like a spin, but it really is the truth.
